This is HEALTHY? SAY WHAAAAAT?
You guys, I did it! I created the most nutritionally dense smoothie bowl. And the best part is that it tastes like dessert.
Would you believe me if I told you this bowl is packed with nutrients such as iron, protein, fatty acids, and leafy greens such as spinach, spirulina, and collards? It’s even filled with probiotics and digestive enzymes for healthy digestion.
I have to admit, I’m not usually one to promote or even recommend meal replacement shakes/protein powders. A lot of them are expensive and unnecessary, especially considering that its much healthier to eat each ingredient in its whole form. However, I felt like trying something new, so here I am.
If you don’t have shakeology, any plant-based meal replacement/protein powder should do. And you can easily omit the powdered greens if you don’t have any on hand (though, you can add any type of powdered green.)
– 1 scoop of cafe latte @shakeology
– 1 teaspoon of phresh powdered greens
– 1 banana
– 2 cups ice
– 12oz Mariani Nut walnut milk (I couldn’t find this product online, however, I LOVE Elmhurst walnut milk!)
– a splash of McCormick maple extract
Blend in a high speed blender.
